Evidence.
At Starkey Laboratories the term evidence underlies everything from our independent research efforts to hearing aid design. By incorporating both internal and peer-reviewed research into the development process we ensure that patient benefit drives our design.
StarkeyEvidence.com is intended to act as a delivery system for information regarding benchmarking and research efforts from inside Starkey Laboratories. Detailed benchmarking methodology and itemization of the equipment used in data collection will be provided. Our aim is to make public the methods used to gather data quantifying product performance. We hope this helps to articulate how evidence is used to support our current claims and the development of future products.
The value of peer-reviewed publication is paramount to maintaining the integrity of research design, data interpretation, and ultimately establishing a knowledge base; however, the timeline of product development does not allow manufacturers of hearing aids the luxury of the peer-review cycle for validation of new algorithm or product design. For this reason we welcome the critical review of the methodologies and projects discussed within these pages. The information provided should be treated as a resource to professionals dispensing hearing aids, university faculty and students around the world. We hope that researchers and students alike will take the initiative to replicate our findings and offer our pledge to actively support such endeavors.
StarkeyEvidence.com is an evolving resource. At its inception you will see a variety of reports regarding our most recent product designs. Content will be added on an ongoing basis, as new features and instruments are developed. If you have questions, please contact us. If you see a need for discussion of certain topics, let us know, and we will try our best to accommodate your needs.
